Bio
Ciao! My present, My name is Valeria Ambi and I was born in Modena in 1959. I consider myself a multifaceted and prolific artist, My career extends for over forty years of inexhaustible research, Experimentation and transformation. From the beginning, My artistic path was guided by a clear intention: form emotion, to energy and light through a continuous dialogue between matter, color, light and space.
After obtaining a diploma in the art of ceramics at the Venturi art institute in Modena in 1978, I started in 1985 an artisan activity (continued until 2003) dedicated to the creation of artistic windows. This experience represented my first step of a research that led me to push me far beyond traditional techniques, experimenting with ever new artistic languages.
In the 90s, After the first pictorial-maateric experiences with glass, My interest turned to sculpture and space, giving life to three -dimensional works that combine aesthetic beauty and symbolic tension. My first personal exhibition was held in Sassuolo in 1991, and already in 1999 I was a finalist at the "Third Millennium" International Sculpture Prize of Terra Moretti with the work The tree of light, who consecrated my poetic sensitivity and design force.
Since, I participated in numerous competitions and public projects throughout Italy, distinguishing myself for my ability to transform recovery materials—Vetro, plastic, metal, wood, fabrics - in monumental and vibrant works. My works, Often site-specific, they establish a direct dialogue with the environment and the public, making art an immersive and participatory experience.
Among my most significant works I quote The tree of joy (Winner of the 1st prize at the Mantua Art Park, 2013), Cloud of Light, Vortex and Wave of Joy—All made with recycled pets, As evidence of my attention for environmental issues and for a sustainable and responsible art. Installations like Aerial Dance for Bosco (BAS-2014) and Between visible and invisible (SMLER-2016) instead they show my ability to merge movement, color and space in sensitive and contemplative language.
My work is crossed by a poetic vision that is expressed both in the public and personal dimension, As in the funeral sculpture for my father, covered in glass mosaic. In more recent years, I also experienced expressive forms related to the ritual and the party, like the allegorical wagon for the Flowering feast of Vignola.
In 2021 I measured myself again with the environmental theme creating Wave of Joy, a great colored sculpture of 3,25 mt. of height still made with recycled pets. This work has participated in reworc in Rome Festival (important event that enhances art with recycled materials) and has been exhibited in various Italian/artistic theme Italian events.
My tireless research towards the purest form of expressive freedom I continue today. My art is an open gesture in the world, A lively testimony of the transformative power of art - choppy to elevate, unite.
